About Dr. Adkisson
Dr. Scott Adkisson has been practicing dentistry in Lenoir City since 2001. A Coalfield, Tennessee, native, he grew up in the small communities of East Tennessee and never strayed far from the mountains he loves.
Dr. Adkisson began his studies at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and finished his degree in microbiology at East Tennessee State University — paying his way through school as a fly-fishing guide. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, with full honors, from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.
Dr. Adkisson believes in the careful blending of esthetics and health. By balancing structural stability, function and artistry, he helps patients achieve smiles that look natural, feel great and last. From routine fillings and whitening to more complex care like root canals and full-mouth reconstruction, he approaches every case with the same goal — making patients whole again through care built on trust and open communication.

Beyond the Practice
Dr. Adkisson and his wife, Beverly, have three children, Fisher, Cooper and Julia Kate. When he’s not in the office, you’ll likely find him fishing, backpacking, behind a camera or cheering on the Vols.
He often says the most rewarding part of his work is the relationships — getting to be part of his patients’ lives and families, sometimes across generations.
