Our Legacy of Care
Adkisson & Roth, formerly Simpson & Adkisson, was founded by Dr. Joe Simpson in 1979. He recently stepped into a well-earned retirement, passing the torch to his daughter, Dr. Natalie Simpson Roth, in July 2026.
Born and raised in Lenoir City, Dr. Roth graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and brings more than 12 years of clinical experience and a passion for patient-first care.
Dr. Scott Adkisson joined the practice in 2001. A Coalfield native who paid his way through school as a fly-fishing guide in the East Tennessee mountains, Dr. Adkisson graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. For 25 years and counting, he has practiced with a philosophy of personalized, relationship-based care.

Is Adkisson & Roth accepting new patients?
Yes. We welcome new patients of all ages and look forward to meeting you. Schedule your first visit by calling (865) 986-6566.
What insurance plans do you accept?
We file claims for all dental insurance plans except TennCare, Medicaid and Medicare, and we advocate to help you receive every benefit you’re entitled to. Just bring your insurance card to your appointment and we’ll handle the paperwork.
We’re in-network with Delta Dental, Cigna and Guardian, and we accept veterans with dental coverage — but in-network isn’t your only option. Many of our patients receive excellent out-of-network benefits, sometimes paying just a couple of dollars more. We’re glad to call your insurance company and run a cost analysis on your specific plan so you know exactly where you stand.

What are your office hours?
We are open Monday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays are closed to patient care.
